Debuting a new Ancestors unKnown

Do you know that feeling you get right before you make a big presentation? You’ve spent hours preparing, from theories and research to trials and revisions. You’ve finally gotten a grasp of your expertise. And people might actually be interested in something you have to share. That’s assuming you don’t forget what you’re supposed to say. You peak into the crease of your folded notes. Take a few deep breaths to calm a rush of nerves. Approach the microphone to the sound of supportive, though maybe unenthusiastic applause. With no more time to prepare, your audience quiets down. So you just start…talking.

Well that’s sort of how we’re feeling about debuting the brand new Ancestors unKnown website!

A little nervous and a lot excited. It’s time to share our fresh approach and a brand new look. And we hope you stick around to learn more about our program, goals and partnership opportunities.

It’s a brand new Ancestors unKnown! Welcome and stay awhile. We’ll just be here…talking.

Wishing you the very best success with this initiative. Engaging youth in genealogical study, especially youth-of-color, promises to sensitive them to their personal and collective histories, increase their critical thinking and analytical skills and boost their sense of self.
